DI103-MP (ДИ103-МП)
DI103-MP is a PM steel produced by a Ukrainian manufacturer "Dneprospetsstal". Together with DI90-MP (ДИ90-МП) it is popular among Russian and Ukrainian knife makers. Unfortunately it is not well known outside of post USSR countries.
It is a high speed tool steel with good impact strength, aggressive cutting edge and strong edge retention. This steel is not easy to come by, especially on kitchen knives. Being quite reactive it benefits from a layer of protection like forced patina or stainless steel damascus cladding
